Mounting Options

Mounting prints is done for several reasons. The most common is to prevent warping of the print, particularly larger prints. Warping occurs from hanging over time, due to gravity and our humid Florida air. All prints 11x14 and larger come with a standard mount. In addition to function, mounting can be done for style reasons as well.

I offer four different mounting options as follows:

1) Standard Mount - is approximately 1/8" thick and helps to protect your print from warping and bending. They are thin enough to be placed in a frame. I recommend framing without glass to avoid having prints stuck to glass and mounted prints make this possible. Standard mounted prints can also be placed on an easel for display.

2) Foam Mount - prints are mounted to foam board that is approximately 3/16 inches thick that are resistant to warping. These prints are thin enough to fit in a frame if desired or may be placed without a frame on a shelf, easel or hung frameless on a wall.

3) Stand-outs - come with protective coating and are mounted on a 3/4" lightweight backing that gives a clean, modern and finished look to unframed images. Holes are included on the back of the mounts for easy hanging.

4) Gallery Mounts - come mounted on a finished wood surface with a beveled edge. They give a clean, tradition look to your unframed images. They are sealed with protective coating. Holes are included on the back of these mounts for easy hanging. They also look beautiful displayed on an easel. These are heavier than all other options listed.
